Damian is a counsel at BCGL and a founding partner at dotlaw, a boutique law firm specializing in information technology (IT) and intellectual property (IP) law, cybersecurity, data protection and regulatory law (fintech and medtech in particular). He has several years of professional experience in providing general advisory to corporate clients, tech companies in particular. He is also an academic researcher.
Damian specializes in IT and IP law, data protection and
cybersecurity. He has broad experience in implementing information
security management systems (ISMS), including in organizations using
cloud computing. He also serves as a data protection officer for
companies operating in different sectors, including fintech,
telemedicine and healthcare.
Damian is a member of the International Association of Privacy
Professionals (IAPP) and holds CIPP/E and CIPM certifications in
data protection. He is also a certified lead auditor for ISO/IEC
27001. Damian is passionate about the influence of new technologies
on privacy. He has authored several articles concerning, among other
things, IT law and data protection issues. Damian works in Polish
and English.
Prior to founding dotlaw, Damian worked for several years in the IT
and data protection teams of Szostek_Bar i Partnerzy and as an
assistant researcher at the University of Wrocław.
